Hello to all the people who will be viewing our page. Welcome to the blog of the Prince of Swords. We are craftspeople specializing in functional and ceremonial items (mostly knives and swords). We work in a variety of methods and mediums. From casting and blacksmithing, to carving and stock removal; we do it all. Due in no small part to our respect for the Earth, we use recycled and waste materials from other companies when possible. For example: On a knife, the grip can be made from recycled paper and resin, or from cured wood from local tree-trimmings. The grips can also be made of scrap leather disks glued together, or from antler or bone. Antler and bone grips can be carved. There are endless possibilities. Our bronze swords (which will begin to go on sale this winter) will have cast brass or bronze hilts that differ in color with the blade bronze. Really, there are many possibilities. We even offer an Athame made of pewter so it has the silvery color without the iron in it so people who work with the Fae/ Sidhe don't offend them by possessing iron.
And that brings us to another point... We are a proudly Pagan company that caters to the needs of fellow Pagans. If you're not quite sure what that is, that's okay. "Pagan" comes from the Latin word "Paganus" which referred to people who lived in the countryside and were stubbornly holding on to their traditions instead of going along with every fad that swept the Roman Empire. In the middle ages, it came to refer to people who held out against conversion to the Christian faith. And in modern times, it means anyone who follows an Earth-based or polytheistic religion. This is our niche market. But even if you're not a Pagan, we still welcome your business.
